Stars In My Hand

98" x 98"

Cotton fabrics, Hobbs Heirloom Wool batting, custom feather quilting designs in 50 wt/3 ply cotton thread, background stippling in 100 wt. silk thread, embellished with over 1,600 Swarovski crystals.

Stars In My Hand is an anniversary quilt. The title comes from an anonymous quote I discovered on the internet:

"If I could reach up and touch a star for every time you've made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand."

The crystal urns in the corners of the quilt are Diane Gaudynski quilting motifs, along with a small sleeping cat. Many of the feather designs were inspired by Diane's work as well, and drawn with the aid of Anita Shackelford's Infinite Feathers Template.

There are twelve motifs around the outside edges of the quilt, symbolic wishes for the couple's continued happiness.
