I’m delighted to tell you that the Stars In My Hand quilt was awarded 3rd place in the Traditional Large Pieced Quilt category at the Road to California Quilt Show this last weekend. How exciting! I spent some time this morning on the Road to California website looking at all the winning quilts, and there are some simply stunning quilts there! I don’t envy the judges their job (well, maybe a little, since they do get to see each and every quilt up close and personal!), since it must be so difficult to choose just a few quilts as winners from so many entries. I can’t wait to get the quilt back so I can see what the judges comments were about it. It’s always interesting to see what they liked (or didn’t like) about your quilts when you send them off to shows. I do wish I’d been able to go, but California is a long way from here.
They even offer a cd with pictures of every quilt and wearable entry to the show. I might just have to order that!
Go quilt! Your work gets better every day!

Hi Nick!
Thanks, yup, I made that quilt. That’s what I do when I’m not hanging out you know where.
I seem to recall a comment over there about productivity going down as your time there goes up, and it’s true!!
/kicking myself to get back to the sewing machine
Thanks for looking in!

Nadine. This is a beautiful quilt. Congratulations! Did you do the quilting on a domestic home machine or a longarm? It is awesome! I wasn’t able to attend the show. I live pretty close to it, but had a busy weekend and never made it over there. Enjoyed the link picturing the winners. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Vivian!
I machine quilt on a domestic machine, a Pfaff 2056. I’m glad you liked the quilt! Have you been to the show in past years?? I’m afraid if I lived close to a big show like that, I’d probably spend the whole three days there, and my wallet would be very light when I finally made it back! Thanks for stopping by!
